Giordano Family

Today I'm sharing one of the first real sessions I did over 3 years ago now. The Giordano family was one of the first families I photographed outside of my own.

I'm so grateful Beth gave me the opportunity to capture her family that day. I didn't really know then that I wanted to make this photography thing a part of my career. I'd already gotten my B.A. in music and had plans to go back to school for nursing. I needed a creative outlet though  and photography was it for me. Plus it was a good way to pick up a few extra bucks here and there.

It's fun to see how some things have stayed the same like how I try to capture moments and feeling and candid shots. But I feel like I've come a long ways as far getting my exposure better and editing. I still have a ways to go before I'm where I want to be, but I've noticed in my last few sessions that I'm getting closer to capturing the vision that I see in my head.

As an artist and creative, I hope I never give up trying to learn more and be the best I can be. I want my images to tell a piece of a family's story and be something they cherish for generations.
